Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour became the biggest concert in the world. Helping Swift enter the billionaire club, Eras Tour has been etched in history. As the second episode of the Taylor Swift documentary rolled out globally, ‘The End of an Era’ docuseries shared a few heartfelt moments of the crew. Leaving several employees teary-eyed and speechless, there were reportedly $197 million in bonuses issued.
The Grammy-winner’s record-breaking tour gave success incentives to all members who worked on the concert, from producers to carpenters. Swift made it a point to share handwritten letters and gifts along with the bonus cheques for every team member at the end of each leg of the tour.
Bonus day on Eras Tour
The latest episode of the Taylor Swift docuseries revealed that bonus day was a truly significant part of the tour. The billionaire pop star shared, “Bonus day is so important, because setting a precedent with The Eras Tour is so important to me, because people who work on the road, if the tour grosses more, they get more of a bonus,” as she wrote letters for the team.
While several of the crew members were left speechless, one reaction stood out. Production assistant, Max Holmes, went in complete shock, looking at the bonus envelope Swift shared. Staggered by the amount of money, he remarked, “I’m gonna pass out.”
Since the on-stage dancers play a huge role in supporting and uplifting Taylor Swift‘s entire act, she personally handed them their bonuses, too. Opening his card from the headliner, dancer Kameron Saunders shared what Swift wrote in the letter. It read, “Dearest Kam, we’ve travelled the world like we set out to do. We’ve dazzled the crowds, but we’ve missed family, too. My full gratitude doesn’t come from a bank, but here’s [bleep] dollars just to say thanks. Love, Taylor,”
While the individual amount of the bonuses has not been disclosed in the series, several staff members burst into tears when they learnt of the amount as thy hugged Taylor in appreciation. In 2023, during her August tour, Taylor Swift reportedly gave out $55 million in bonuses during the North American leg of the tour alone.
