Tarun Mansukhani’s high-octane comedy thriller Housefull 5 is off to a flying start at the box office, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark within its first four days of release in India. According to data from industry tracker Sacnilk, the fifth installment in the popular franchise brought in Rs 24 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 31 crore on day two. The upward trend continued into Sunday with collections reaching Rs 32.5 crore, before dipping slightly to Rs 13.5 crore on Monday. The film’s total domestic earnings now stand at ₹101 crore.

The momentum hasn’t just been limited to Indian audiences. Housefull 5 has performed well internationally as well, becoming one of the better-performing overseas titles in Akshay Kumar’s career. The film raked in an estimated $7.5–8 million (approximately Rs 65–70 crore) in its opening weekend outside India, positioning it as a potential contender to cross R s300 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.

On Monday, June 9, Housefull 5A recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 19.78%, with night shows peaking at 26.24%. Meanwhile, Housefull 5B saw an average occupancy of 13.02%, with late-night screenings performing best at 18.37%.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh noted the film’s impressive overseas performance. “The opening weekend numbers of Housefull 5 have surpassed the opening weekend business of Housefull 3, Good Newwz and Sooryavanshi in overseas,” Adarsh wrote in a social media post, underlining the film’s broad global appeal.

Directed by Mansukhani, Housefull 5 ventures into fresh territory, quite literally, as the story unfolds on a lavish cruise ship. The film takes a thrilling turn when a billionaire is found dead under mysterious circumstances, setting the stage for a slapstick-laced whodunit filled with twists and mistaken identities.

In an innovative twist, the film has been released in two distinct versions – Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each featuring a different climaxes to the central murder mystery. Longtime franchise stars Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh return, joined this time by an ensemble cast that includes Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, and Nana Patekar.

With strong initial numbers and growing buzz, Housefull 5 appears set for a blockbuster run both in India and abroad.
