This health scare comes shortly after Kakar’s return to the screen with Celebrity MasterChef India, marking her television comeback after a five-year hiatus. However, her participation in the culinary reality show was cut short due to emerging health concerns, culminating in her voluntary withdrawal from the competition.
In a candid vlog, Ibrahim detailed the sequence of events leading up to the diagnosis. “Dipika began experiencing abdominal discomfort while I was away in Chandigarh. We initially attributed it to acidity, but as the pain persisted, she consulted our family physician—the same doctor who treated my father,” he shared. According to Ibrahim, the doctor prescribed antibiotics and ordered routine blood work, after which her condition seemed to stabilize temporarily.
However, the discomfort returned following a family celebration, prompting further medical investigations. “Her blood reports showed signs of infection, and the doctor recommended a CT scan. That’s when we discovered she has a tumour in the left lobe of her liver, roughly the size of a tennis ball. It was a shocking revelation for all of us,” Ibrahim said.
He added that preliminary findings suggest the tumour is benign, although definitive conclusions are pending additional test results. Doctors have advised immediate hospitalization for Kakar to begin comprehensive treatment and ensure appropriate care.
Dipika Kakar, who has long been a beloved figure on Indian television, has received an outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers following the news. She and Shoaib Ibrahim, who tied the knot in February 2018 in Bhopal, are parents to a son named Ruhaan.
