Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar may have slowed down slightly in its fourth week, but the film continues to script history at the box office. On day 22 of its theatrical run, the Ranveer Singh-starrer crossed the much-coveted Rs 1,000 crore mark worldwide, cementing its place among Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters.

Dhurandhar box office update: Rs 1,000 crore milestone crossed

According to Jio Studios, the film achieved the milestone on Thursday, while trade experts believe the actual mark was crossed on Friday. Regardless of the exact date, Dhurandhar is now the ninth Indian film and the fourth Bollywood film to enter the Rs 1,000 crore club. What makes the achievement special is that it is the only Bollywood film without a Khan in the lead to reach this landmark.

Domestic collections: Beats Jawan to become No.1 in India

At the domestic box office, Dhurandhar has shown remarkable consistency. As of Friday night, the film has collected Rs 648.50 crore net in India, which amounts to around Rs 778 crore gross. With this, it has officially become the highest-grossing Bollywood film ever in India, overtaking Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had earned Rs 640 crore net.

Overseas performance strengthens in week three

Internationally, Dhurandhar has gained momentum over the past two weeks. The film has earned over $25 million in overseas markets in 22 days. This pushes its worldwide total to Rs 1003 crore, according to trade estimates. The makers, however, claim the figure is closer to Rs 1020 crore, suggesting that the film is still performing strongly across territories.

Closing in on Pathaan and Kalki 2898 AD

With its current run, Dhurandhar is now on the verge of surpassing Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 1042 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 1056 crore). Trade analysts expect the film to cross both films’ lifetime collections by Sunday, which would make it the seventh-highest-grossing Indian film of all time.

Tough road ahead to beat RRR and KGF Chapter 2

The next target for Dhurandhar will be Jawan (Rs 1160 crore). However, overtaking RRR and KGF: Chapter 2, both of which earned over Rs 1200 crore worldwide, could prove challenging as the film enters the later stages of its theatrical run.

Ranveer Singh’s biggest box office success so far

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller opened to Rs 28 crore and has since dominated screens in India and overseas. Even internationally, the film is holding its ground against Hollywood releases like Avatar: Fire and Ash. With records falling almost every day, Dhurandhar’s box office journey is far from over.
