Kanye West, who now goes by “Ye Ye,” shockingly strolled down to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs‘ sex-trafficking trial on Friday for a brief appearance. The timing of the controversial hip-hop icon’s brief Manhattan courthouse appearance is still up for speculative debate.

The “Heartless” hit-maker made headlines for his court cameo a day after one of Diddy’s alleged victims and former flame, who is testifying under the alias “Jane,” finished her days-long head-turning testimony. Over the period of six days, Combs’ influencer gal pal, who was his girlfriend until his 2024 arrest, shifted the focus to an unnamed “icon in the music industry.” Reporters and netizens alike are wondering if this masked identity is, in fact, Kanye.

Diddy’s ex testifies about mystery rapper

Testifying with immunity, the woman detailed how the accused music mogul brutally beat her and coerced her to have unprotected sex with escorts and porn stars. In addition to doubling down on her allegations her one-time boyfriend, Jane claimed that she attended a Las Vegas birthday party hosted by a world-famous rapper for his girlfriend in January 2024. She even insisted on the mystery artist being close to the Bad Boy Records founder both personally and professionally.

Janes testified earlier this week that she flew to the event on the rapper’s private plane, but she wasn’t alone. A “big group” of fellow invites initially headed to catch a play in Vegas, followed by a birthday dinner. They eventually landed in a strip club, which ultimately led to a hotel room afterparty. It was there that Jane reportedly crossed paths with a male escort, Antoine, whom she had already met before as she and Diddy hired him for “freak-offs.” Jane claimed to have caught the individual having sex with a woman as “everybody” watched. The party is said to have included the mystery rapper, his girlfriend and roughly two other people.

Diddy’s ex-flame indicated that while she refrained from engaging in any sexual activities at the party, the Revolt founder still got “upset.” Nonetheless, Jane recounted that at one point during the explicit gathering, she flashed her breasts to the room. According to the Guardian, the former pair was on a three-month break when she flew to Sin City for the event.

Is Kanye West the mystery rapper icon in Jane’s testimony? Here’s what we know

During the trial, Diddy’s ex-partner was asked if the rapper she had been referring to was “an individual at the top of the music industry as well… an icon in the music industry?” She said “Yes.”

Although she appears to have confirmed his high-profile status, Indian-origin Judge Arun Subramanian presiding over the case ruled against the famous rapper’s identity being revealed. While Combs’ lawyer Marc Agnifilio objected to the decision, urging for the rapper’s name to be outed in court, prosecutor Maureen Comey said that pushing for the musician to be ID’d was just a “pretext to attempt to harass this witness and the court should not countenance it.”

According to Jane’s revelations in court, the unnamed rapper, who is said to be a close friend of Diddy’s, told her at the Las Vegas party that he’d “always had a crush” on her, and “wanted to blank” her.

Although we don’t have a name for the rap icon in question, Combs’ ex-GF said that he was into a “similar” sex-obsessed lifestyle as the “I’ll Be Missing You” artist.

What’s Kanye West’s take on it?

With Ye Ye showing up to the court on Friday, reporters grabbed the opportunity and asked him if he was the unidentified rapper at the centre of Jane’s testimony that lasted nearly a week. However, he simply chose to shrug those enquiries off by not responding to the claims.

According to the New York Post, West did not walk into the main courtroom where Diddy had been on trial. He instead watched it all unfold from an overflow room in the courthouse. The “Vultures” album-maker wore an all-white denim outfit and black shades to the federal court, where he was ultimately pictured alongside Sean Combs’ son Christian ‘King’ Combs. He only spent about 40 minutes inside before making a noisy exit in a black car.
