Aditya Dhar’s spy action film Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, showed no signs of slowing down as it continued its impressive run at the box office on day 24. The film has now collected Rs 1,100.23 crore worldwide, with its India gross standing at Rs 862.23 crore.
On Sunday, December 28, Dhurandhar achieved a major milestone by surpassing the worldwide box office collection of Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan (2023). With this, the film moved up to become the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time globally, marking another high point in its theatrical journey.
Dhurandhar boosts Indian Box Office Collections
According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned Rs 22.5 crore nett in India on Sunday. This was an increase from Saturday’s Rs 20.5 crore, showing steady growth in its fourth weekend. The film’s total domestic nett collection has now reached Rs 706.40 crore, as reported by the makers.
Only a handful of Indian films have crossed the Rs 700 crore nett mark in India. These include Pushpa 2: The Rule (Rs 1,234.1 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1,030.42 crore), KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 859.7 crore), and RRR (Rs 782.2 crore).
Dhurandhar’s Worldwide collections cross Rs 1,100 crore
On the global front, Dhurandhar has now overtaken Pathaan’s worldwide total of Rs 1,055 crore. With a current worldwide gross of Rs 1,100.23 crore, the film is now closing in on Atlee’s Jawan, which earned around Rs 1,160 crore worldwide.
However, the overseas collections present a challenge. While Dhurandhar has earned approximately Rs 230 crore overseas, Jawan had collected nearly Rs 400 crore outside India, making it uncertain if the Ranveer Singh-starrer will be able to surpass that record.
Dhurandhar occupancy remains steady across show timings
The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 46.58 per cent on Sunday. Morning shows opened at 26.31 per cent occupancy, which rose sharply during afternoon shows to 56.54 per cent. Evening screenings maintained strong momentum, registering 56.89 per cent occupancy.
