Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar continues its strong box office run and is now firmly on track to enter the Rs 600-crore club in India. As the final weekend of 2025 approaches, the film shows no signs of slowing down. With no major release in the same genre, Dhurandhar is having an extended run at theatres. The only awaited release on December 25 is Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which caters to a different audience.
Dhurandhar to surpass Chhaava soon?
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has confirmed that Dhurandhar is set to overtake Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and emerge as the highest-grossing film of 2025. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava ended its India net run at Rs 601.54 crore. On Day 18, December 22, Dhurandhar earned Rs 16.5 crore, taking its total domestic collection to around Rs 572.25 crore. With steady collections expected over the coming days, the film is likely to cross Chhaava’s lifetime India total soon.
Overseas collections give Dhurandhar a clear edge
The film’s overseas performance has been a major boost to its overall numbers. While Chhaava earned approximately Rs 91 crore from international markets, Dhurandhar has already collected around Rs 190 crore overseas. As per Sacnilk, the film’s worldwide collection currently stands at Rs 876.50 crore, placing it well ahead of other releases this year.
Entering the top ten highest-grossing Indian films
On the domestic front, Dhurandhar has secured a place among the top ten highest-grossing Indian films based on India net collections. It has overtaken Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which earned Rs 553 crore, to claim the tenth spot. The film also crossed the lifetime earnings of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 543 crore). Notably, Dhurandhar achieved these milestones without releasing dubbed versions, unlike Pathaan and Animal, which benefited significantly from multi-language releases.
Strong opening and consistent weekly momentum
Dhurandhar opened to impressive numbers, collecting Rs 103 crore in its first weekend. It earned Rs 28 crore on Friday, Rs 32 crore on Saturday and Rs 43 crore on Sunday. The film maintained strong weekday momentum with Rs 23.25 crore on Monday and Rs 27 crore on Tuesday, pushing the total past Rs 150 crore. With Rs 27 crore each on Wednesday and Thursday, the first-week total reached Rs 207.25 crore.
The second weekend witnessed an even bigger surge, with Rs 53 crore on Saturday and Rs 58 crore on Sunday. Weekday collections remained steady with Rs 30.5 crore on Monday, Rs 30 crore on Tuesday, Rs 25.5 crore on Wednesday and Rs 23 crore on Thursday, December 18.
