During this time, widespread rumours about his death created panic, prompting his wife, Hema Malini, and daughter, Esha Deol, to issue a statement on November 11 confirming that he was alive and recovering.

The makers of Ikkis shared a new character poster of veteran actor Dharmendra on Monday, calling him a “timeless legend.” In the film, Dharmendra plays M. L. Khetarpal, the father of war hero Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The movie is directed by Sriram Raghavan and will release in theatres on December 25.
The film stars Agastya Nanda as Arun Khetarpal. Production house Maddock Films posted Dharmendra’s look from the movie on their official X account. Their caption read: “Fathers raise sons. Dharmendra, who appeared in around 300 films over a 65-year career—from Satyakam to Sholay—passed away in Mumbai on Monday at the age of 89. He would have turned 90 on December 8.
