Even after a decade of its release, Baahubali still enjoys a cult fan following, not just in India, but all over the world. Australian cricketer David Warner is proof. Celebrating the film’s 10-year anniversary this July, David Warner dressed up as the iconic warrior from SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, as a tribute to the iconic movie. Rajamouli’s response had the internet in splits.
In a recent Instagram post, Warner shared images of himself dressed in full Baahubali attire, complete with a helmet and shield. Captioning the post, he asked followers, “Which do you prefer for the throwback?? #bahubali.”
Among the many who reacted to Warner’s tribute was none other than the film’s director SS Rajamouli, who commented: “Hi Warner, time to suit up like a true Maahishmathi King. Sending you a royal helmet! @davidwarner31.”

Warner’s post led to a lot of fun responses from netizens in the comments section. One user wrote, “Chill I’ll get ya in one of movies. Hahaha,” while another called him “Devendra Warnerbali.” One comment ended up asking him, “Watching #BaahubaliTheEpic in Australia?”
This isn’t the first time Warner has paid homage to Indian cinema. He frequently keeps delighting fans with lip-syncs and dance recreations from various South Indian films, but his Baahubali avatar has struck a special chord, especially during this commemorative moment.
