Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Collection Day 13: The box office witnessed one of its blockbuster clashes this year with the release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2 on August 14. Both films were released with massive expectations, long advance bookings, and fans going crazy outside theatres. Nearly two weeks later, Coolie continues to dominate, although the film has started showing signs of slowdown, while War 2 is finding it difficult to keep pace.

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 13

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie was released in five languages, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada marking Rajinikanth’s 50th year in cinema. The film had a thunderous opening, recording one of the best long weekends ever for a Tamil film. In fact, it has already become the fourth highest-grossing Tamil movie of all time.

According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie earned just Rs 1.33 crore on Tuesday (Day 13) till 6pm. This comes after a sharp 71 per cent decline on Monday, when the film managed only Rs 3.25 crore. With this, Coolie’s 13-day total now stands at Rs 263.85 crore. Final numbers are expected to be slightly higher once night show collections are added.

In terms of occupancy, Coolie saw limited footfall on Tuesday. The Tamil version registered 13.05 per cent overall occupancy, with 12.39 per cent for morning shows and 13.70 per cent in the afternoon. The Hindi version was weaker, recording 10.05 per cent occupancy with just 6.86 per cent in morning shows, though it improved to 13.23 per cent in afternoon slots.

Despite the drop, the film’s pan-India release has helped it stay ahead in the box office race.

War 2 Box Office Collection Day 13

On the other hand, War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced under the YRF Spy Universe, has been struggling to maintain momentum. The action thriller featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani opened with an impressive Rs 52 crore on Day 1 and went even higher on Day 2, collecting Rs 57.85 crore. However, the film saw a sharp decline in its first weekend itself, with earnings dropping steadily through weekdays.

By the end of its first week, War 2 had collected Rs 204.25 crore driven mainly by Hindi markets (Rs 150.4 crore) and Telugu markets (Rs 52.2 crore). However, in its second week, the collections slipped further. On Day 12 (Monday), it earned Rs 2.15 crore, while Day 13 (Tuesday) saw an even lower figure of Rs 1.69 crore. This brought its 13-day total to Rs 226.82 crore.

Occupancy reports show a steady decline as well. On Tuesday, the Hindi version recorded 11.58 per cent occupancy, while the Telugu version fared slightly better at 13.60 per cent.

Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Collection

With nearly two weeks completed, Coolie is clearly leading the box office battle with Rs 263.85 crore, leaving War 2 behind at Rs 226.82 crore. While both films had stellar openings, Coolie’s multilingual reach and Rajinikanth’s star power have given it an edge.

As both movies head into their third weekend, industry watchers believe Coolie will continue to hold a lead, although its slowing momentum suggests that the coming days will be crucial in determining how high the superstar’s latest outing can go in the record books.
