Hollywood actor Chris Evans will be making a comeback to the Marvel Universe with  ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, The Wrap has reported. Evans is famous for his portrayal of Captain America/Steve Rogers in the ‘Avengers’ series.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is a highly anticipated sequel which will also feature Evans “Avengers” co-star Robert Downey Jr as Doctor Doom. It is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.  

The specifics and scope of his involvement remain unclear. Chris Evans first entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). He went on to reprise his role in several blockbuster films, including The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).

The 43-year-old actor was last seen in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, where he took on the role of Human Torch/Johnny Storm.  

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr, famously known for portraying Iron Man/Tony Stark, is making his return to the MCU, this time stepping into the shoes of the antagonist Doctor Doom.
