Bollywood actor Govinda was rushed to Mumbai’s CritiCare Asia Hospital in Juhu earlier today. According to a PTI report, he has now been discharged after a minor health scare. He had lost consciousness and faced disorientation in the late hours of Tuesday night. After being administered an SOS medication, he was taken to the Emergency ward at 1 AM, earlier today, confirmed NDTV with the actor’s legal team.
The 61-year-old walked out of the medical facility and addressed the reporters waiting for him. He said, “I’m good. I did excessive workout and was fatigued. Yoga-Pranayam is good…Heavy exercise is tough. I am trying to make my personality even better. I feel Yoga-Pranayam is better.” This came a year after he suffered a bullet injury after a reported misfire incident.
Speaking to Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, ANI reported that after being admitted to the hospital, the actor is now ‘conscious and under observation.’ Sinha revealed that the doctors will review the ‘Partner’ actor’s condition around 12 noon, with medical tests underway.
Govinda’s health concerns
As per the NDTV report, the actor has also undergone several tests, the reports of which are awaited. Govinda had also visited veteran actor Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital yesterday, and appeared visibly disturbed. This comes after a sudden uproar among media reports, which alleged the passing of veteran actor Dharmendra, and moved the Bollywood industry to rush for a visit. Amid these guests was Govinda, who was seen driving his car to visit him in the hospital. While there are rumours of the actor being on life support, his wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha have assured that he is stable and recovering.
Govinda’s 2024 bullet injury caused him nearly 8-10 stitches when he accidentally shot himself with his licensed revolver. He was on bed rest for nearly six weeks. His lawyer had opened up to NDTV and shared that Govinda had previously complained of discomfort, disorientation and other ailments.
What happened to Dharmendra?
The veteran Bollywood actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this month after suffering from respiratory problems. Financialexpress.com previously reported that while he remained critical, he is recovering.
However, his family members were enraged by the false claims that went viral about his passing, while notable personalities like Javed Akhtar even mourned his loss on X (formerly Twitter). Visuals of actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Govinda, Ameesha Patel, and others reportedly showed them exiting the Mumbai hospital. Dharmendra, however, remains admitted to the ICU.
