South Korean girl group BLACKPINK is set to make their long awaited comeback soon their agency YG Entertainment confirmed. Preparations for the album are already underway with plans for a new music video to be shot this week, the agency said on Monday.
The group’s last project was the 2022 full-length album “Born Pink” and since then the members have released their own solo work. Jennie released the album “Ruby” while Lisa released “Alter Ego”, Rosé released the eponymous “Rosie”, and Jisoo released “Amortage”, with singles and collaborations released in-between. Now, there is a palpable buzz among Blinks, the name of BLACKPINK’s fandom, who have been patiently waiting for Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa to resume group activities.
YG Entertainment’s statement and their current activities
In a statement to the press, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK would be coming together for a new track and shooting it’s video this week on Monday October 20. “BLACKPINK will begin shooting the music video for their forthcoming new song this week,” They said in the release. “Both the members and staff are putting their utmost effort into delivering the best possible result.”
“We sincerely thank fans for waiting for BLACKPINK’s comeback. The album is in its final stage of completion, focusing on ensuring the highest musical quality. We look forward to sharing more good news soon through official promotional channels,” YG concluded.
According to the Korean Times, The K-pop group is currently on a world tour titled “Deadline” which commenced in Goyang, South Korea earlier this year. In August they became the first K-pop girl group to hold a standalone concert at the Wembley Stadium in London which has hosted some of the most iconic concerts in music history.
