Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is a low budget film and considering that is the case, the film is doing well above expectations. Kushan Nandy directed film has limited stars. The movie also features debutante Bidita Bag and Jatin Goswami is proving to the be the Jack among the card pack which also includes A Gentleman, The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Dark Tower and Vivegam. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has played the role of Babu, a sharp shooter. The movie had earned on its opening day earned Rs 2.05 crore while on Day 2 it got as much as Rs 2.41 crore making the total collection to Rs 4.46 crore. Assuming the earning so far, the movie will almost overtake its budget on Day 3 and anything above that is expected to be a bonus to the team of Babumoshai Bandookbaaz – of course, they would have been expecting a much better performance on Day 2, considering that it was a holiday.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s fanbase is increasing day-by-day and this would have been the main reason for the movie to fly in theaters. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is also said to be in close competition with musical drama film Qaidi Band, produced by Aditya Chopra. Nevertheless, Nawazuddin’s flick is expected to do comparatively better.
Based on the concept of love and lust in the hinterlands of Uttar Pradesh, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz also stars Bidita Bag and Jatin Goswami in lead roles. This is Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s fifth film of 2017 after Munna Michael, MOM, Raees and Haramkhor.
While Nawazuddin’s acting has been praised by many, the movie on a whole has not been able to impress the critics.
