Baahubali The Epic Collection Day 2: Box Office Update

Starting with Rs 1 crore in advance booking collections, Baahubali: The Epic collected more than Rs 3 crore after mere hours of its release. By the end of its opening day, reported Sacnilk, the Prabhas-Daggubati action-drama collected Rs 9.65 crore in India. Globally, the Baahubali: The Epic worldwide box office collection crossed Rs 16 crore. While the excited entrance was not overshadowed by its first Saturday, higher numbers are expected today, on Sunday.

Day 2 for Baahubali brought in Rs 7 crore, according to the industry tracker, taking the film’s collection to Rs 17.80 crore, as it races towards the Rs 20 crore mark. This re-release record has been at par with several Bollywood releases this year, including films like Param Sundari and Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari. They all had similar opening day collection trends.

While the Telugu occupancy dipped on its first Saturday, Baahubali remained a consistent performer across night shows. With 357 shows in Hyderabad, the occupancy rates crossed 63%. It is interesting to note that the screenings were reduced even on its opening weekend, as Bengaluru shows dropped too. From the 149 show, 62% seats were occupied.

Similarly, for Baahubali The Epic in Tamil, the occupancy rates remained healthy and above 40%. Chennai and Coimbatore remained the most popular regions for the Baahubali shows. This Arka Media production remains a Tollywood superhit, giving stiff competition to its predecessors such as Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude and Mari Selvaraj’s Bison.
