Known for films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, director Sanjay Gupta had a rather candid conversation with podcast host Cyrus Broacha. In a viral segment of the episode of ‘Cyrus Says’, Gupta revealed some shocking facts about a Bollywood superstar who burns a huge hole in the production budget for the makers. Addressing him as ‘sahab’, the director refrains from naming the actor since he hasn’t worked with him personally.
Counting down the number of vans, Gupta lists six separate vanities allegedly needed by the actor. From his personal needs to his styling, he reportedly houses at least 5-6 employees per van, taking the tally to nearly 30 staff members on set, just tending to the actor’s needs. And that’s not all. Gupta remarked, “Where do you think this staff will go?” and shared that there is a separate van for them.
‘First van for personal space’
Gupta revealed that the said actor needs a van dedicated to his personal time, “in between shots”. Quoting his source, Gupta claimed that ‘Sahab’ needs to sit naked as the two guests broke out laughing. While that might seem absurd, the Lokhandwala director acknowledged, he went on to break down the other vans he needed. Broacha, the host, seemed bamboozled and joked, “Isn’t it a working day?”

As per the trend, the ‘sahab’ also needs a separate van for makeup and hair, a prerequisite in the glamorous world of Bollywood. Later, he alleged that a makeup artist with multiple assistants tends to remain on set throughout, which amounts to nearly 5 employees.
“Just beside is a van, where he conducts meetings,” revealed Gupta as he overtly mentioned the extravagant demands of this supposed superstar. This is the space where people can come and meet him, and he conducts his business. Coming to the fourth out of the six vanity vans in question, Gupta went on to reveal its purpose.
Yes, it’s a mobile gym. “Here he works out,” claimed the Bollywood director. “Workout van means personal trainer and his assistants, along with a cleaner and driver for the van,” he added, also counting the maintenance cost associated with maintaining these vanities.
‘A chef comes on set’
The superstar can’t go without eating, exclaimed Gupta when he revealed that the actor allegedly has a van exclusively for eating. Claiming that the chef stays on set for the entire day, carefully measures exquisite foods like salmon and meat for the actor. “He doesn’t eat red meat,” remarked Gupta, exaggerating that the actor indulges in 137 gm of salmon, 98 gm of meat, and 45 eggs a day. Since the private chef is not a nutritionist, a dietician is reportedly also present with the actor to advise him on the meals. Ending on a humorous note, he said, “Where do you think the staff of the five vans will sit?” when Broacha asked about the sixth van.
