The 2025 MBC Drama Awards will circle back to South Korean actors and creatives who made monumental contributions to the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) channel’s legacy this year. Today’s drama awards will essentially bridge the gap between the past, present and future by bringing talents across the board on the same stage.
Kim Sung Joo, dubbed a veteran of the MBC Drama Awards since 2019, and actress Lee Sun Bin, who emerged as the Best New Actress at the 2017 MBC Drama Awards, will join forces to serve as MCs.
Shows like Motel California, Undercover High School, Crushology 101, Oh My Ghost Clients, Mary Kills People, To the Moon and Moon River, and their cast and crew, will remain at the forefront tonight. When and where to watch 2025 MBC Drama Awards?
The 2025 MBC Drama Awards will go live at 8:50 pm KST (5:20 pm IST) today, December 30. The red carpet event is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 pm KST.
Domestic audiences in South Korea can view the live broadcast via the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) channel. Although international streaming details haven’t been confirmed, viewers may turn to the MBC YouTube channel for certain clips of the show.
KOCOWA+ and Viki usually provide streaming options for such Korean entertainment awards shows as well. MBC’s official website onair.imbc.com also offers streaming options, but they may be restricted to select regions. According to the MBC website, NAVER’s video streaming service CHZZK is another official option to check out the real-time ceremony.
2025 MBC Drama Awards lineup
Earlier this month, the MBC Drama Awards revealed its presenter lineup, which is marked with fan-favourite mentions all around. This year’s ceremony will witness the past year’s top MBC Drama leads pass on the baton to highly anticipated forthcoming shows’ main leads.
Stars of the upcoming “In Your Radiant Season” (literal title) series, Lee Sung Kyung and Chae Jong Hyeop, make up one such pair confirmed to take the stage today.
Possibly the most-awaited 2026 K-drama title of al is Perfect Crown starring acting wonders IU and Byeon Woo Seok. They will be presenting awards to tonight’s winners as well, while also offering a glimpse into their onscreen chemistry.
And then we have actors Shin Ha Kyun and Heo Sung Tae, the male duo set to lead the drama Fifties Professionals.
Other than that, South Korea’s representative ban Jaurim is also set to deliver its first-ever award show performance since its stage debut.

Unfortunately, MBC’s 2025 drama lineup did not produce an overwhelmingly successful hit this year. The network got stuck in the cycle of relatively low ratings as compared to rivals like SBS and tvN. Consequently, certain K-media reports declared MBC a “box office failure.”
Although shows like Undercover High School, with Seo Kang Joon and Ji Ki Joo as leads, and Lee Chae Min and Roh Jeong Eui’s Crushology 101 garnered a loyal niche following, neither of them were able to surpass expectations on the competitive scale. And so, this has pushed the door wide open for even higher speculation, leaving fans wondering which title would end up taking the lead as the MBC Drama of the Year.
