120 Bahadur vs Mastiii 4 Box Office Collection Day 3: Two very different films released last Friday, and both are now competing at the box office. 120 Bahadur is a serious war drama directed by Razneesh Ghai and stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead role. Mastiii 4, on the other hand, is a fun adult comedy directed by Milap Zaveri and features the popular trio of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani. Even though the genres are completely different, both films opened on the same day and are running close. So far, 120 Bahadur has managed to move ahead.

Weekend Box Office Performance: 120 Bahadur vs Mastiii 4

Sunday turned out to be the best day for both films. 120 Bahadur collected Rs 4 crore on its third day, which was slightly higher than its Saturday earning of Rs 3.85 crore. This also marks a big jump from its opening day, when the film earned Rs 2.25 crore. The steady growth shows that interest in the film increased through the weekend. Mastiii 4 also had its strongest day on Sunday with Rs 3 crore, rising a little from Rs 2.75 crore on Saturday. The film earned the same amount on Friday as well, so its growth was smaller compared to 120 Bahadur. After three days, Mastiii 4 collected Rs 8.50 crore in India, while 120 Bahadur secured Rs 10.10 crore. This makes 120 Bahadur the only film of the two to enter double digits by the end of the weekend.

How it compares to Farhan Akhtar’s past films

The opening weekend of 120 Bahadur is slightly lower than Farhan Akhtar’s last theatrical release, The Sky Is Pink, which earned ₹10.70 crore in its first weekend in 2019. But that film was released before the pandemic and also starred Priyanka Chopra, which helped draw more viewers. Since then, Farhan’s only acting project has been Toofan in 2021, which was released directly on a streaming platform. Considering this gap, 120 Bahadur has still managed to attract a fair number of viewers to cinemas.

Audience turnout and theatre response

Audience turnout for 120 Bahadur was better throughout Sunday. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 16.50 percent in Hindi shows across the day. Morning shows started slow, but afternoon and evening shows showed stronger interest before it settled slightly lower at night. Mastiii 4 had an overall occupancy of 12.61 per cent only. Both films had similar night occupancy, but 120 Bahadur remained consistently stronger in the evening slots, which usually attract the biggest crowds.

Story of 120 Bahadur

120 Bahadur takes the audience back to the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The film is about 120 soldiers from the Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who stood like a wall against a massive Chinese force of nearly 3,000 troops. Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, the leader of this extraordinary unit. Raashii Khanna appears as Shagun Kanwar Singh, and the supporting cast includes Ankit Siwach, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, and Sahib Verma.

Story of Mastiii 4

Mastiii 4 is the fourth film in the long-running adult-comedy franchise that began with Masti in 2004. The series continued with Grand Masti in 2013 and Great Grand Masti in 2016. The latest film follows the same fun and wild style, bringing back the lead trio along with Elnaaz Norouzi, Arshad Warsi, Nargis Fakhri, and Tusshar Kapoor. Genelia D’Souza also appears in a special cameo, adding more excitement for fans of the franchise.

Real test begins now

Both films have shown some momentum through the weekend, but the real test begins with the weekdays. If 120 Bahadur maintains its pace, it may turn into another blockbuster of 2025. But Mastiii 4 will need stronger turnout to continue at box office. The coming days will decide how long this box office battle continues and which film wins the box office collections.
