After a lukewarm opening, the earnings of Farhan Akhtar-starrer 120 Bahadur experienced a massive surge during the weekend, raising hopes that the film will join the list of blockbusters this year. The war film based on the true story of the 120 Indian bravehearts of Charlie Company led by Major Shaitan Singh, has struck a chord with the audience.

Unlike the typical Bollywood war films, this one appears more genuine and heartfelt, with performances that gel well with the narrative, according to reviews. The chapter that unfolded during the 1962 Sino-Indian War has come alive on the big screen under the direction of director Razneesh Razy Ghai. Let’s see the box office performance of the film released on Friday, November 21.

How the film has been performing at the box office

120 Bahadur opened with Rs 2.25 crore on Friday, raising little hopes with its below-the-mark performance on its first day. Mastiii 4, starring the triumvirate of Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivdasani, earned slightly better with Rs 2.75 cr collections. Continuing its success run in the second week, Ajay Devgn’s agegap romcom De De Pyaar De 2 collected Rs 2.25 cr on its second Friday.

However, as Friday gave way to the weekend, the collections immediately started to look different, hinting that one of the November 21 releases is well on the way to success.

On Saturday, 120 Bahadur collected Rs 3.85 crore, seeing 71% jump in its earnings. On the other hand, Mastiii 4 failed to recreate the magic of its franchise as its earnings remained exactly the same as its opening day – Rs 2.75 cr. Saturday also brought good news for De De Pyaar De 2, which is giving its competitors a run for their money even in its second week with Rs 4 cr collection.

Farhan Akhtar’s film continued to enchant viewers on its first Sunday as the collection grew 4% and the earnings swelled to Rs 4 crore. In the first three days of its release, the film earned Rs 10.11 crore.

Milap Zaveri’s Mastiii 4, that also released on November 21, saw a minuscule rise on Sunday with Rs 3 crore collections, which is nowhere compared to the earnings of 120 Bahadur that released on the same day. De De Pyaar De 2 continued remained the preferred choice for the audiences this weekend too as the film added another Rs 8.5 cr to its kitty, with its ten day earnings standing at Rs 60 crore.
