UP Police Constable New Exam Date 2024: Amid ‘paper leak’ protests, the Yogi Adityanath government announced the cancellation of the UP Police Constable Exam 2024. The decision was taken after several applicants took to the social media to say that the question paper of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam-2023 was leaked. People shared screenshots of the list of answers that was circulating on WhatsApp. While the cancellation of exams is being welcomed by many, there are those who are worried about what will happen next.   • 1: As per the official statement, the UP Police Constable Exam 2024 will be held again. The timeline of this exam has been set by the Yogi government at six months. This means that the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam will be reconducted again in next six months.
  • 2: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board, which is the nodal authority of the exams, said that all those applicants who had their names in the press release dated December 23, 2023 will be available for the re-exam.
  • 3: As of now, no official announcement has been made regarding the schedule of the UP Police Constable Exam. Candidates have been advised to check uppbpb.gov.in for a confirmed update.
  • 4: Some reports say that there will be no need to apply fresh for the re-exam. It should be noted that 48 lakh people had applied for the exam while 43 lakh appeared for the exams on February 17 and 18.

UP Police Exam 2024: What’s the pattern

  • The duration of the exam will be 2 hours, equivalent to 120 minutes. It will be an objective examination comprising four papers: General Hindi, General Knowledge, Numerical & Mental Ability Test, and Mental Aptitude / Intelligence / Reasoning.
  • The total marks for the exam will be 300, with a total of 150 questions.
  • Each question will carry a weightage of +2 marks. However, there will be a negative marking scheme wherein 0.5 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • The examination will be conducted in a bilingual format, with questions available in both English and Hindi languages.
