82% of Indian students are concerned about adapting to unfamiliar curriculum abroad, finds a recent survey conducted by Educate Online, an edtech startup.
Survey says that over half of the respondents (56.52%) expressed apprehension about academic disparities when considering international education.
And 82.61% of respondents revealed concerns about adjusting to unfamiliar curricula in international educational settings, emphasising the growing demand for robust support systems, including academic counselling.
While the majority (73.91%) of respondents reported moderate confidence in adapting to new cultural environments, there remains an ongoing need for Indian educational institutions to provide cultural sensitivity training and peer support programmes.
Additionally, language proficiency emerged as a critical issue for 26.09% of respondents. This points towards the need for holistic language support initiatives and enhanced language programmes within the Indian education system.
“These findings resonate deeply with the evolving landscape of Indian education. They spotlight the critical role that academic counselling and support services must play in preparing students not only for admission to international institutions but also for thriving in global academic environments,” survey outlined.
