On Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the Vidya Samiksha Kendra at the old Shishu Bihar School in Tripura, the initiative aims to empower parents by providing timely and pertinent information about their children’s progress at the school level, as per the official announcement.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020, this system is anticipated to facilitate parents and guardians in achieving a Grade level of Competency through real-time monitoring via Digital Home Learning.
The event witnessed the presence of NC Sharma, Director of Higher Education, Secretary of Education Rabel Hemendra Kumar and Smita Mall Elementary Education, who observed the unveiling of this modern digital technology, expected to play a pivotal role in effectively monitoring the education system, grades and the quality of school education across the state.
Vidya Samiksha Kendra aims to enhance education quality by providing proper training to teachers and faculty members. With plans to enrol approximately 5000 schools and around 37,000 teachers statewide, it is poised to make a significant impact.
This digital system, implemented in some states, has now been introduced in Tripura, aligning with the vision of leveraging data and technology to bring about substantial improvements in learning outcomes.
Previously, States/UTs were advised to establish a central system, Vidya Samiksha Kendra, at the state level for comprehensive tracking of student enrollment, learning progress, mainstreaming out-of-school children, textbook delivery, teacher and school support, and more.
VSK, covering data from over 15 lakh schools, 96 lakh teachers, and 26 crore students, employs big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to meaningfully analyse and enhance the overall monitoring of the education system, ultimately leading to improved learning outcomes.
