The Design Village (TDV), India and the Sheffield School of Design United Kingdom (UK) have formally established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote collaborative efforts in the field of design education and research, according to an official release.
The MoU lays the foundation for potential joint initiatives, encompassing joint research, staff and student exchange programmes, collaborative programme development and various other academic and scholarly pursuits. The primary goal of this MoU is to facilitate initial discussions and exploration in good faith, with both institutions aiming to assess the feasibility and desirability of engaging in the proposed activities, the release mentioned.
“Such initiatives empower learners with a comprehensive and transformative educational experience. Sheffield Hallam shares so many values with The Design Village as an institute, that we feel exhilarated to provide this opportunity to our learners to engage in interdisciplinary learning, and build global networks. Having visited a part of their campus at the Head Post Office, our synergies were visible from the adaptive reuse of the building to the nuances of the curriculum being delivered,” Mudita Pasari, academic dean, TDV said.
Both parties express optimism regarding the potential outcomes of this collaboration, envisioning a synergistic relationship that will propel advancements in design education and research. This strategic partnership aspires to redefine the parameters of design education and cultivate a global community of innovative thinkers and creators, as per the release.
