The ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024,’ the 7th edition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Interaction Programme with school students, teachers and parents, has garnered a registration of more than one crore on the MyGov portal. Initiated by PM Modi, ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (PPC) is a distinctive interactive programme where students, parents, and teachers from across the nation and even overseas interact with the PM to discuss concerns related to examinations and life after school, according to an official release.

Successfully organised for the past six years by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, this year’s event is scheduled for 29th January 2024, starting from 11 am at Bharat Mandapam, ITPO, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The programme will adopt a town-hall format, with nearly 4,000 participants having the opportunity to interact directly with the PM. Special guests for the main event may include two students and a teacher from each State and UT, along with winners of the Kala Utsav and the Veer Gatha competition, the release mentioned.

The online MCQ competition, live on the MyGov portal from 11th December 2023 to 12th January 2024, invites students (grades 6th-12th), teachers and parents to participate. As of 5th January 2024, more than 90 lakh students, more than eight lakh teachers and around two lakh parents have registered, as per the release.

Leading up to the main event, a series of activities will be organised at the school level from 12th January 2024 (Youth Day) to 23rd January 2024. These activities, including a marathon run, music competition, meme competition, nukkad natak and student-anchor-student-guest discussions, aim to promote joyful learning. On the final day, 23rd January 2024, coinciding with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti, a Painting Competition will be held in 500 districts across the country, featuring topics like Chandrayan and the sporting success of India – showcasing how examinations can be a celebration of life, the release noted.

Around 2050 participants selected based on their questions on the MyGov portal will receive a special ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ kit, which includes the Exam Warriors book in Hindi and English, authored by the Prime Minister, along with a certificate.
