The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is all set to release its much-awaited rankings on August 12, 2024 at 3 pm. The NIRF has been established by the Ministry of Education in India. It evaluates the performance of higher education institutions all over India. The rankings are prepared by making a comprehensive analysis of several factors like teaching methodology, research, professional practices, learning resources, graduation outcomes, and perception.

Minister of State for Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh has unveiled NIRF Rankings 2023. Last year the assessments for the ranking covered 5,543 higher education institutions across 13 categories. The list included the broad categories from the overall universities ranking, colleges, engineering, medical, dental, research institutions, management, pharmacy, architecture, law, and innovation. The latest category that was incorporated into the list was Agriculture.

All about NIRF Ranking 2023

The top ten slots were bagged by all seven IITs- Madras, Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee and Guwahati. The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was ranked ninth whereas the 10th rank was secured by Jawaharlal Nehru University.

In terms of best Management colleges, the top five rankings were given to the IIMs-namely Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kozhikode, Calcutta, and Delhi.

The All-India Institute of Medical Sciences was declared as rank 1 in the best medical colleges in India, followed by Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research-Chandigarh, Christian Medical College-Vellore, National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences and Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research-Puducherry.
