Institute of Media Studies (IMS) organised the 7th National Media Conclave in collaboration with KIIT University, the event was led by Farhat Basir Khan, a media scholar from Jamia Hamdard University, as per the press statement.
The event was iInaugurated by Biswabhusan Harichandan, governor of Chhattisgarh, the event underscored the use of digital technology for societal welfare and democratic fortification. Higher Education Minister of Odisha, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, praised Odisha’s inclusive media landscape. Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan and Information and Public Relations Minister of Odisha, Pradip Kumar Amat, echoed similar views, as detailed in the press release.
During the session ‘Social Media Opportunities and Perspectives’, Farhat Basir Khan discussed the evolution of social media and addressed challenges in integrating it into education, emphasising critical engagement for moulding it into a robust learning platform.
Khan acknowledged the omnipresence of social media across sectors and emphasised its potential for community engagement and sustainable causes. He advocated for the responsible use of social media and harnessing its power for positive societal impact.
