The class of 2025 at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has secured 410 offers in its summer placements for the flagship MBA programme, breaking a record of at least 13 years. The institute said that the firms from multiple domains participated across the three clusters in the summer placement programme, with all students across 25 cohorts that firms visited.

The highest number of offers came from consulting and BFSI firms, historically the top recruiters during the placements. A total of 166 consulting offers (40% of total offers) were made this year as compared to 150 (38%) in 2024 and 142 (35%) in 2023. Similarly, BFSI offers stood at 105 in 2025 as compared to 87 last year and 73 prior to that.

In a consolidated placement report, IIM-A said that it not only saw a rise in the number of recruiting firms participating but also a notable rise in the roles being offered by the long-standing recruiters, reflecting their continued confidence in the institute’s talent pool.

“Over 50 new companies participated in the 2025 summer placements, including Apple, Hero MotoCorp, JioStar, Philip Morris International, Gaja Capital, HDFC AMC, Medtronic India, Purplle and others,” the report said. As per the institute, there was an increased confidence from recruiters across financial services, management consulting, conglomerates, and FMCG sectors.

“The process concluded at the earliest pace since the pandemic with a significant rise in both dream applications and conversions compared to previous years, reflecting the trust of recruiters and the aspirations of our students,” said Atharva Kapadnis, recruitment secretary at IIM-A.

Meanwhile, the top recruiters this year include Boston Consulting Group (24 offers), McKinsey & Company (17), FinIQ Consulting (17), Bain & Company (15), Kearney (15) and Tata Consultancy Services (13). Domestic firms like Mahindra & Mahindra and JioStar made 10 offers each.

The placements, which concluded on November 3, also saw international opportunities for the Middle East, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore offered by firms like HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Fast Retailing. The institute said that over 165 firms opened job descriptions. These firms were grouped into cohorts based on the industry they operate in, and these cohorts were invited to campus across different clusters.

“As in previous years, students were provided the flexibility of making “dream” applications to firms of their choice in a subsequent cluster, even with an offer in hand. This year, 117 students submitted over 280 dream applications – a notable increase from previous years – reflecting greater flexibility and empowerment for students to pursue their ideal career choices,” the placement report said.

In 2025, the summer placements at top IIMs have witnessed a revival after almost two years of challenging phase. In IIM Calcutta’s case, the data showed that the number of recruiters in the recent placement season went up to 183 in 2025 as compared to 175 in 2024. The placement report from IIM Bangalore, too, indicate a revival in MBA placements, primarily led by the consulting firms.
