Founded a decade ago, GD Goenka University claims to offer a comprehensive range of programmes spanning nearly 70 domains such as Engineering, Management, Design, Liberal Arts, Allied Health Sciences, Agriculture, Hospitality and more. In addition, it recently introduced programmes in mass media and entertainment  as part of its  regular curriculum, B. S. Satyanarayana, VC, GD Goenka University, told FE Education. “At our campus, we take pride in our ability to cover a wide spectrum of knowledge areas, including emerging fields that hold great significance for our nation, all within a single institution,” he added.

Furthermore, in an academic year, the institute claims to have about 3,500 pursuing different courses. When it comes to the placements, VC claims to provide the maximum placements at 60-70% to its students across multiple courses. “This year alone, 300 companies visited our campus for recruitment. However, we often find a shortage of takers because some students are inclined towards entrepreneurship. In contrast, fields such as  Engineering and Allied Health Sciences boast a high placement rate, followed by  most management courses, claimed the institute. . To give an example, among our 230 management students, a significant portion receives multiple job offers,” Satyanarayana added.

Furthermore, the university claims to have inked  several collaborations with industries and firms to foster industry-academia connections. As per the institute  many of its  programmes operate in collaboration with companies, allowing students to benefit directly from industry expertise. “For example, in our Hospitality and Tourism programme, we collaborate with major hotel chains. These chains not only provide courses but also hire students directly for internships and eventual job placements, making traditional placement processes unnecessary,” he said.

Additionally, the institution claims to provide scholarships to a number of students, ranging from approximately 600 to 2,000 recipients. “We provide more than 20 merit-based scholarships directly from our institution and half of these recipients receive 100% scholarship coverage, while others benefit from partial scholarships, which may reduce their tuition fees by 25%,” he added.

Apart from these direct scholarships, the university claims to partner with the Haryana government to offer scholarships. “We collaborate with the Haryana government to offer specific scholarships. Through a broad selection process by the Haryana government, approximately 120 students receive scholarships,” he added.
