One of the top entrance exams for law, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities released the results on December 10 and only a few candidates have qualified for it out of lakhs of applicants.

National-level exams

There are a total of three national-level exams for law in India which include, CLAT, AILET, and LSAT. The CLAT 2024 has already concluded and the last date to apply for AILET was November 13, 2023. The LSAT India Colleges (Associated) is a group of Indian law schools that shortlist candidates based on LSAT scores. These are the LSAC Global member institutions in general. It is held twice a year, in January and June. The deadline to apply for the January session is January 10, 2024, and the deadline for the June session is May 7, 2024.

State-level Law exams

Law aspirants can also apply to state-level law entrance exams, which include, MH CET Law, TS Law Set, AP Law Set and more.

MH CET: It is one of the most prestigious exams in Maharashtra, and lakhs of candidates take it each year. The MH CET Law exam is an online CBT-based exam in which candidates must answer 150 questions in 2 hours.

Institute law exams

Some of the prestigious universities of India conduct their law entrance exams like Jamia Milia Islamia University in Delhi and Delhi University. JMI conducts JMI BA LLB for a total seats of 120 out of which 60 are self-financed. The exam for the 2024 batch has already been concluded in April 2023.

The University of Delhi’s DU LLB program is a well-known and respected three-year undergraduate law program administered by the National Testing Agency. The NTA will release the CUET LLB application form 2024 online in the third week of December 2023. To complete the application process, candidates must first register online.
