The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) conducted a re-examination for the CCE Prelims 2024 on January 4, with 5,943 candidates attending. This marks a significant contrast to the 12,012 candidates who were issued admit cards for the exam. According to a press release from the Commission, only a little over 5,000 candidates actually appeared for the exam, according to The Indian Express.

The situation also extends to the Bapu Examination Complex Centre, where an alleged paper leak incident occurred on January 13. Of the total candidates, only 8,111 downloaded the revised admit cards following the leak.

In protest of the ongoing issues with the BPSC examination, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has gone on a fast unto death demanding the cancellation of the exam. He was arrested early Monday while protesting at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Kishor is not alone in his protest—numerous students have been demonstrating at the site for over two weeks, calling for the cancellation of the BPSC prelims.

In contrast, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) held its PCS examination on December 22, with 576,154 candidates having applied. Of these, only 241,212 candidates (about 42 percent) appeared for the exam.
