In an effort to address the educational needs of underprivileged students Aasman Foundation, powered by iDreamCareer, has introduced ‘Disha Career Samvaad’ a helpline number aimed at guiding and supporting students with an annual household income between Rs 1.5 lakh to 3.4 lakh, as per the press release.
Disha Career Samvaad aims to reach out to 41,000 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Platform further stated that these students will be identified from the top 10 impoverished states, as per NITI Aayog’s Multidimensional Poverty Index.
To maintain gender equality, the helpline seeks to impact a minimum of 50% female students among the identified beneficiaries. The helpline number will offer comprehensive support to class 12th outgoing students, guiding them through the crucial phase until college admissions in the academic year 2024. Students can benefit from unlimited calls to the helpline, ensuring continuous assistance and guidance throughout their academic journey. This initiative is supported by the EY Foundation(India) to empower the youth and foster inclusivity in education. By targeting students from economically weaker sections, the programme aims to bridge the gap and provide equal opportunities for all, as detailed in the press release.
