In just ten years, Indian aviation has soared to new heights. The country has more than doubled its number of airports and passenger traffic has skyrocketed as well, rising from 120 million to over 236 million annually. The skies are busier than ever, with India’s aircraft fleet growing from around 400 to over 800 and projections showing it could surpass 1,500 by 2030. In 2024 alone, India logged a 6% jump in domestic air traffic, the fastest growth globally after China. With this momentum, India has now outpaced both Spain and the UK to become the world’s third-largest aviation market.
