Shah Rukh Khan has recently been provided with Y+ security by the Maharashtra government after the Bollywood superstar received death threats after his recent blockbuster success of ‘Jawan’.
A written complaint was submitted to the state government which stated the threats. It was then that Shah Rukh Khan was provided with Y+ security.
There are different levels of security that are provided to celebrities and VIPs under different circumstances. Z+, Z, Y, Y+ and X are some of them. Special Protection Group is also an exclusive privilege that is reserved for the prime minister.
The members of these security forces receive training with the guidelines of the US Secret Service.
The level of protection is assessed by security agencies depending on the perceived threats and security is accordingly provided.
The category of Z+ security provides 55-strong security detail and includes personnel from different forces and 10 commandos from the National Security Guard (NSG), along with local police.
Z security includes 30 armed personnel divided between residential and mobile security, each with an escort vehicle.
The Y+ level of security involves five personnel stationed at the protectee’s residence. In three shifts, six personal security officers (PSOs) are deployed.
This category of security is usually provided to people who are dealing with high threat perception. It involves six personal security officers (PSOs) operating in three shifts 24/7, along with five armed guards posted at the individual’s home.
Y+ security is the fourth elite category of force granted by the government. It is given to prominent figures who seek special protection in the country.
Upon receiving Y+ security, SRK will have a constant entourage of six armed commandos around the clock. His security detail will consist of a total of 11 personnel, comprising four from the Mumbai Police, six commandos, and a vehicle for traffic clearance. The four police officers will remain stationed at his residence, Mannat, while the six commandos will accompany him wherever he goes.
It is noteworthy that this security service will be privately financed, and Shah Rukh Khan himself will bear the expenses associated with it. The actor will be required to remit the corresponding amount to the state government.
