The BJP won the majority of seats in the Delhi assembly elections in 2025 and returned to power after 27 years. To win the elections BJP and AAP both have made big promises including the freebies. However, it is there to observe how the party is going to fulfil the promises made to the people amid the election campaign. The promises include two free cylinders to poor women in a year and free education from KG to PG. It also announced an amount of Rs 2500 to women every month.

  1. BJP promised to give cylinders for Rs 500 to poor women and two free cylinders every year.
  2. Pregnant women will be given Rs  21000 and 6 nutrition kits.
  3. Mahila Samridhi Yojna will launched which would give Rs 2500 per month.
  4. Ayushman Bharat Yojana will be implemented in the first cabinet meeting, the scheme allows free treatment facilities up to 10 lakh.
  5. Atal canteen will be opened in the slum areas, to provide food at the minimum cost of Rs 5.
  6. Students appearing in the competitive examination in Delhi will get financial assistance of Rs 15,000 and will get Rs 1000 per month for a technical or commercial course.
  7. The promise to generate 50,000 government jobs and 20 lakh employment and self-employment opportunities,
  8. The registered workers will be provided a loan facility of up to Rs 3 lakh and assistance of Rs 10 thousand for skills and equipment.
  9. The stopped pension of the elderly will be resumed. The pension of 60+ citizens will be increased from 2000 to 2500. The elderly people 70+ age have been promised Rs 3000, currently, they get Rs 2500.
  10. They have also promised free education from KG to PG.

Is the free electricity, water and bus services going to stop?

The BJP and PM Modi clarified during the election campaign that welfare schemes are going to continue if the BJP comes into power. The clarification from PM Modi comes amid the allegation by Arvind Kejriwal of stopping the freebies or welfare schemes by the BJP if they come into power. This means that 200 units of free electricity is going to continue with 20 thousand litres of free water, along with the free bus service for women.
