A fresh spell of rainfall activity accompanied by thunderstorms, hailstorms & lightning is likely over central India today and tomorrow, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) mentioned.
The weather forecast agency also predicted an active western disturbance in the western Himalayan region from February 29 and adjoining plains from March 01 to 04.
Owing to the western disturbance, isolated to scattered light rainfall and snowfall are likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh today. As per IMD, an active western disturbance is likely to attain peak intensity on March 02 and 03, 2024.
Delhi to see cloudy skies
Generally cloudy skies with a possibility of drizzle towards the night is likely in Delhi today, the MeT department said.
The national capital on Sunday recorded a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average, as per IMD.
The weather department has predicted partly cloudy skies and thunderstorms with rain during the day.
Rainfall in parts of the country
Under the influence of a trough, isolated to scattered rainfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh during the next 6-7 days with isolated thunderstorms. Rainfall is also predicted in states like Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura till Feb 29.
In southern states, hot and humid weather will likely prevail over Kerala, and Tamil Nadu today and over Rayalaseema till February 28.
