In its latest weather update, the India Meteorological Department predicted a rise in rainfall activity along the coast of Karnataka and Maharashtra starting from June 8. Additionally, IMD anticipates thunderstorms accompanying rainfall in Northwest India today. Meanwhile, North Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and certain parts of East India are projected to experience heatwave conditions.
Southwest Monsoon Advances across India
The weather report released by IMD informed that the southwest monsoon has extended its reach into Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Northwest Bay of Bengal and some parts of the central Arabian Sea. It also predicted that the monsoon would further extend its reach over the remaining parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Odisha, South Chhattisgarh and Northwest Bay of Bengal in next 2-3 days.
A presence of cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam has been warned by the IMD. As a result of this weather pattern, heavy rainfall is expected in Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal from June 7th to June 10th. Isolated heavy rainfall is forecast for Maharashtra, Goa, Konkan, and Marathwada from during the same period. Karnataka, Mahe, Kerala, Telangana, and Rayalaseema are also expected to experience heavy rainfall this week.

Heatwave conditions are forecast by the IMD for Odisha, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, and northeast Madhya Pradesh from June 7th to June 8th.
Dust storm and hailstorms alert issued by IMD
Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Chandigarh are likely to experience dust storms whereas isolated hailstorms are expected to occur over West Rajasthan on June 8th.
