The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced heat wave conditions in various regions. Affected areas will be interior Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, East Jharkhand, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, East Telangana, North Interior Tamil Nadu, and North Interior Karnataka.

Orange Alert areas issued:

Orange alert areas have been issued by the IMD for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and North Interior Karnataka. Safety measures have also been given for the general public, moderate temperatures will be there, but vulnerable people, like infants and the elderly, may face health concerns. People should stay safe and avoid heat exposure and try to keep themselves cool. One should drink plenty of water even if they are thirsty. Homemade drinks like lassi, rice water , lemon water and buttermilk can be taken and it will help in keeping hydrated.

Heat Wave Condition:

Heat wave conditions are expected in isolated pockets over North Tamil Nadu, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka today.

Weather Patterns:

A cyclonic circulation is present over east Assam, causing rainfall and snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning in Arunachal Pradesh. Rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, & Tripura from today to April 10th. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh today.

Temperature to Watch:

No significant change in maximum temperatures is very likely over many parts of South India during next 2 days then gradual fall by 2-3°C for subsequent 3 days. There will be no major changes in maximum temperatures very likely over rest parts of the country. Minimum temperatures are higher than normal by 3-5°C in isolated places over various regions.

Warm night conditions are expected in isolated pockets over North Interior Karnataka and Odisha today. Hot and humid weather is likely in Kerala, Mahe, coastal areas of Gujarat, Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema from today to April 11th.
