The India Meteorological Department in its latest weather bulletin has notified that there is likely to be extremely heavy rainfall in Telangana, Marathwada, and Vidarbha today on 2 September 2024. Moreover, very heavy downpours are expected in Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Chhattisgarh, West Madhya Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema during the same period.
IMD issues red & orange alert for these regions
The IMD has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Vidarbha whereas an orange alert for very intense rains has been issued for Telangana, Gujarat region, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Assam, and Meghalaya.
Heavy rainfall forecast for Southern India
Intense heavy rainfall is forecast for today (2 Sept 2024) in Telangana, Marathwada, and Vidarbha. Additionally, extreme showers are likely to occur in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from 2 Sept to 5 Sept, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Karnataka and Kerala might receive it on 2 Sept. Mahe is likely to get it from 2 Sept to 4 Sept.
Western & Central India to get heavy downpours
The Met Department has warned that there would be extremely heavy rainfall over Vidarbha, Gujarat region, Kutch, Saurashtra, Chhattisgarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, and Madhya Maharashtra.
Rainfall warning for Northeast & Eastern India
Isolated very heavy rains might be experienced in Meghalaya and Assam. Likewise, similar weather patterns are likely to occur in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Heavy downpours are predicted for next week in Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland, and Mizoram.
IMD alert for intense rains in Northwest India
The Weather Department has projected heavy precipitation in East Rajasthan for the next seven days, Uttarakhand is also expected to witness the same weather conditions. West Rajasthan, West, and East Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience heavy rainfall in the next two days.
