The India Meteorological Department in its latest weather bulletin has forecast that very heavy rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh for the next three days. The IMD has also issued a red alert for extremely heavy downpours for these three states while an orange alert for intense rains has been declared for Delhi, Chandigarh, East Rajasthan, and East Madhya Pradesh. An orange indicates citizens should be prepared for power cuts and major disruptions may affect road, rail, and air transportation.

Delhi-NCR Weather Update

The National Capital is expected to have cloudy weather and is likely to receive an average to heavy shower along with thunderstorms and gusty winds on Thursday (Sept 12). The maximum temperature is expected to be around 30 and the minimum temperature will be 23 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rainfall prediction in Northwest India

The Met Department has predicted that there may be isolated extremely heavy rains in Uttarakhand from Sept 12 to Sept 13, West Uttar Pradesh will get it for the same duration while East Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive it on Sept 12. Similar weather conditions will prevail in East Rajasthan from Sept 12 to Sept 15. Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttarakhand might get it from Sept 12 to Sept 14. West Rajasthan is expected to face it on Sept 12 and Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience it on Sept 12 and Sept 13.

IMD Weather Forecast for Central and Western India

Intense heavy showers have been warned for West Madhya Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh on Sept 12. Likewise, Madhya Maharashtra is likely to experience it on Sept 12 and Chhattisgarh may get it from Sept 15 to Sept 17.

Moderate Rainfall expected in Southern India

The Weather Department has alerted that there may be widespread light to average showers over Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe today. Similarly, Tamil Naidu, Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Yanam, Interior Karnataka, and Rayalaseema are anticipated to witness this week.

Northeast and Eastern India to receive heavy showers

Heavy precipitation might occur over Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh from Sept 12 to Sept 16. Jharkhand is forecast to get it on Sept 14, Bihar and Odisha might receive it on Sept 13 and Sept 14. Gangetic West Bengal is projected to get heavy downpours from Sept 12 to Sept 14.
