As the BJP marks a resounding comeback in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, party MP Manoj Tiwari expressed his joy by singing BJP slogans, calling it a “homecoming” after 27 years. Tiwari, who won from the Northeast Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha elections, declared that the “exile” of the BJP in Delhi was coming to an end and that the city’s future would be revitalised.
“Delhi’s children, women, senior citizens, Yamuna, air, and water will all be energised with this homecoming. This is the time,” he said, celebrating the party’s strong performance in the election. Tiwari made a bold promise, assuring that the Yamuna River—long plagued by pollution—would be cleaned within three years. “Not even five years, we just need three. People in Delhi will want to visit Yamuna twice a day when we are done,” he claimed.
When asked about the BJP’s choice for Delhi’s next Chief Minister, Tiwari remained tight-lipped but hinted at a historic tenure ahead. “Once the results are out in the evening, the party will sit together and decide on a worthy contender—one who will surely break Sheila Dikshit’s record of three consecutive terms as CM,” he remarked.
Taking a dig at AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Tiwari alleged that his government was never serious about governance. “Kejriwal’s intent was never to work. His intent was only to remain immersed in corruption,” he accused.
Tiwari, a former Bhojpuri actor-singer, ended on a lighter note, sharing that he will be playing a cricket match with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan at Arun Jaitley Stadium tomorrow, adding a touch of entertainment to a politically charged day.
Key AAP leaders, including Chief Minister Atishi and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, are trailing in their constituencies. The Congress, once a dominant force in Delhi, remains on the sidelines.
