The ordeal for workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand has finally ended after tireless efforts from thousands of officials, miners, executives, and planners. Their continuous work has turned the rescue plan into a success, bringing relief to many families and putting smiles on the faces of those inside and outside the tunnel.
The moment of joy was captured as trapped workers emerged from the tunnel, expressing gratitude with folded hands and smiles. This heartwarming scene was documented for everyone to witness.
Earlier on the 17th day of the rescue mission, a team of skilled “rat-hole miners” initiated strenuous drilling efforts to reach the 41 trapped workers. Around 24 professional specialists in “rat-hole mining” were involved in the manual drilling process, carefully excavating a narrow path to provide access to the trapped workers. This phase of the operation required precision and expertise to navigate the challenging conditions of the tunnel.
