The ordeal for workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand has finally ended after tireless efforts from thousands of officials, miners, executives, and planners. Earlier on the 17th day of the rescue mission, a team of skilled “rat-hole miners” initiated strenuous drilling efforts to reach the 41 trapped workers. Around 24 professional specialists in “rat-hole mining” were involved in the manual drilling process, carefully excavating a narrow path to provide access to the trapped workers. This phase of the operation required precision and expertise to navigate the challenging conditions of the tunnel.
