Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025: As counting began for the Bihar Assembly elections on Friday, the Janata Dal (United) released a striking poster on its official social media account on X, declaring, “Aaj backwas nahi…vikas jeetega. Aaj Bihar jeetega.”

The party also wrote a caption along with the post that read: ‘’Aaj vipaksh ki bakwaas haar rhi hai..Bihar ka vikas jeet raha hai. Aaj koi ek nahi, poora Bihar jeet raha hai,” which translates to a claim that the opposition’s noise is losing, whereas Bihar’s development is winning, and the entire state, not just one, is emerging victorious. The graphic shows Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and crowds of supporters, underlining the party’s focus on development.

JD (U) shows optimism with a sharp message

The poster reflected the mood on the ground as trends started favouring the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The party has simultaneously shared in its earlier campaign line-Sirf ek din ka intezar, phir se Nitish Sakar”. The party showed confidence that the alliance was poised for another term.

JD (U) says trends validate ground feedback

As the first round of leads positioned the NDA ahead, JD (U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha stated that the coalition’s performance aligned with what party workers had observed during the campaign. “The results are in line with our expectations and the feedback we were receiving. I think NDA will win with a huge margin” he told reporters as quoted by ANI.

Jha slammed the Mahagathbandhan leaders for celebrating early, blaming them for starting to discuss portfolios and oath-taking dates before the public mandate was clear. He highlighted Nitish Kumar’s outreach during the campaign, stating that the Chief Minister interacted directly with people across districts. The response also indicates a strong preference for the NDA. “The happiness on people’s faces made us feel like the entire state wants Nitish Kumar as CM again, “ he further added.

As per the Election Commission’s early trends at 10 am, the NDA has crossed the halfway mark by leading with 159 seats, including 69 for the BJP and 67 for the JD (U). The Mahagathbandhan was leading in 76 constituencies, with the RJD leading 51 of them. Counting is currently underway at 243 centres under tight security. In the counting process, postal ballots were first processed, and EVM counting followed shortly.

The Bihar election witnessed an extensive turnout, with more than 70 crore voters exercising their franchise to decide whether the NDA or the Mahagathbandhan would form the next government.
