A man sustained injuries after jumping off a four-storeyed building during a fire outbreak at a cafe in Karnataka’s Bengaluru. Local authorities confirm that no casualties were reported during the incident that took place at the cafe located the Koramangala area.

“The incident took place around 11 AM in Mudpipe Cafe, which is located on the terrace of a four-storey building in the busy Koramangala area. While we are yet to ascertain the reason behind the incident, a gas leakage caused an explosion at the rooftop restaurant,” a police official said.

A widely circulated video captured a man jumping from the terrace, desperate to escape the flames. He was transported to KG Hospital in Tilaknagar for medical attention.

Approximately ten staff members managed to escape unharmed through an emergency exit. Eight fire tenders, staffed by over 35 firefighters, were sent to the scene.

Shobhit Kumaraswamy, a manager at a nearby car showroom, shared his account of the incident, saying, “Five two-wheelers of our staff and a new car that was to be delivered to a customer have been damaged. We heard around five explosions. We will be closing the showroom for the time being. The festive sale will have a severe impact because of this incident. The firefighters came nearly one hour after the fire broke out. If they had responded earlier, the damage could have been less.”
