A migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead by terrorists in the Tumchi Nowpora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday, as reported by police.
The Jammu and Kashmir police have identified the deceased as Mukesh Singh. He was shot in Pulwama’s Rajpora area around 12:45 pm.

In the last 24 hours, this was the second terror attack that has happened in the Kashmir Valley.
In another incident, according to the police, a militant had shot and critically injured a police officer in the Eidgah area of Jammu and Kashmir. The injured inspector has been identified as Masroor Ahmad and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The investigations have indicated the use of a pistol in this act of terrorism, resulting in the immediate sealing off of the area and the registration of a case, as reported by the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Meanwhile, a terrorist was killed after the Army and police foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said today, ANI reported.
Kashmir Zone Police posted on X and said, “In a joint operation that commenced yesterday, the Army and Kupwara Police have successfully foiled an infiltration attempt in the Jumagund area of the Keran sector, in which one terrorist has been killed. The search operation continues.”
