Nagar, suspected to be involved in the scrap trade, has been charged under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act after an FIR was filed against him at the Beta 2 police station in Greater Noida on January 2 of this year.
The 42-year-old is also accused in a gang-rape case registered at the Noida Sector 39 police station on December 28, 2023, officials said, PTI reported.
“The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have been in touch with the Interpol and local authorities abroad. A lookout circular and red corner notice was also issued against him in January this year over suspicion that he could flee the country,” a senior police officer told PTI, confirming his arrest in Thailand.

Following legal procedures, the accused will be brought back to Greater Noida for trial, the officer stated, withholding further specifics.
Since initiating the Gangsters Act case, local police have arrested approximately a dozen of Nagar’s associates and confiscated assets, including factories, offices, and vehicles, valued at around Rs 200 crore, allegedly acquired through illicit means.
