Film and TV serial actor Bhupinder Singh and three of his associates have been arrested for allegedly firing at his neighbours, leading to one death, over cutting trees, reports PTI.

Police said that three cops have also been suspended for negligence of duty.

The incident took place on Sunday in Kuakheda village of the Badhapur area in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor when the actor had a fight with his neighbour over felling of trees on his farm, according to ASP Dharam Singh Marchal.

As the fight escalated, Bhupinder Singh opened fire at Gurdeep Singh, a farmer, his two sons – Govind and Amrik and his wife Meera Bai. While 23-year-old Govind died on the spot, three others were admitted to a district hospital later and are undergoing treatment.

According to media reports, Bhupinder fired 10 rounds from licensed and illegal weapons at the four members of the family.

Four of them were arrested on Monday, the ASP said.

Three policemen who have been suspended include Badhapur SHO Sumit Rathi, Inspector Yasin and Constable Krishna Kumar. The SP has handed over the inquiry to ASP Dharam Singh Marchal after circle officer Sangram Singh showed negligence towards his duty.
