Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said on Monday that debates of Constituent Assembly show that erstwhile leaders of RSS were against the Constitution. Participating in discussion on “Glorious Journey of 75 years of the Constitution of India” in the Rajya Sabha, “Those who hated the flag, Ashok Chakra and the Constitution are today teaching lessons to us on the Constitution,” Kharge said.

Kharge also said BJP has been giving ‘jumlas’ to befool people of the country and blaming the Congress instead.

“Those who hated the flag, Ashok Chakra and the Constitution are today teaching lessons to us on the Constitution,” Kharge said.

He hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the PM lives in past, not in present; it would have been better had he listed present achievements that strengthened democracy.

The Congress leader further said that ‘Bhakti’ of PM is taking country towards dictatorship, adding that democracy should not turn into dictatorship.

Continuing his swipe against PM Modi for not visiting Manipur, which has been embroiled in ethnic violence, Kharge said that the PM can travel everywhere, but has no time to visit Manipur even when violence continues there.

He also said BJP is against reservation that is why they are against caste census, adding that the Congress government will implement women reservation faster than BJP.
