A teenager was shot to death in Katghar area of Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad. The victim has been identified as Harsh, also known as Sidhu, aged 19, and a resident of Dawal Phatak Valmiki Mohalla in the Galshaheed police station area, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place when the victim had gone to attend a birthday party with his friend, Sumit, in Mehbulla Ganj on Wednesday night. On his way home, the victim argued with two people, identified as Rajesh Rastogi and his son Lakshya Rastogi, in the Joshiyan Mohalla area about overtaking their vehicle, ANI reported.

The argument quickly became heated, and Rajesh and Lakshya allegedly shot Harsh. He was hit by bullets and taken to the district hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Shortly after the incident, the victim’s family, along with many community members, gathered at Katghar police station to protest. They also blocked the road, demanding action against those responsible.
Senior police officials, including SSP Hemraj Meena and SP City Akhilesh Bhadauria, quickly arrived with reinforcements from several police stations. They reassured the family that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators and promised their swift arrest, calming the crowd.

Meanwhile, Harsh’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
SP City Akhilesh Bhadauria said that a case has been filed based on the family’s complaint, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects soon. This incident marks the second fatal shooting in Moradabad recently, following the killing of a cleric on Tuesday, June 11.
