After a video emerged on social media from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house, AAP MP Swati Maliwal on Friday said that a “political hitman” has started efforts to save himself.

In a post on X, Maliwal wrote, “Like every time, this time also this political hitman has started efforts to save himself. By getting his people to tweet and playing videos without any context, he thinks he can save himself by committing this crime. Who makes a video of someone being beaten up?”

In the purported 52-second video, the AAP MP can be heard arguing with the security personnel at the CM’s house. Men seen around can be heard asking her to leave.

“The truth will be revealed to everyone as soon as the CCTV footage of the house and the room is checked,” she said in the post.

“Fall to whatever level you can, God is watching everything. One day everyone’s truth will come out in front of the world,” Maliwal added.

Maliwal was allegedly assaulted at Kejriwal’s official residence on Monday, and details of the assault emerged on Friday as she appeared before a magistrate to record her statement in the case.

According to the police FIR, Kejriwal’s long-time aide Bibhav Kumar allegedly kicked and slapped her multiple times, and didn’t relent even as she screamed for help.

Maliwal was constantly “screaming” for help but Kumar did not “relent and attacked” her by kicking her in the chest, stomach and lower parts of her body, the FIR stated. She further said that Kumar attacked her with “full force again and again” and allegedly slapped her seven to eight times.

In the purported video, Maliwal is heard saying that she has called the police control room and would wait till the police personnel arrive. “I will tell all. Let me talk to your DCP,” she says, warning the security personnel that she would get him terminated if he touches her.
