The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially distanced itself from controversial comments made by actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut regarding the farmers’ protests. In a press release issued by the BJP Central Media Department on Monday, the party stated that Ranaut’s remarks do not represent its views and clarified that she is not authorized to speak on party policy matters.
“The statement made by BJP MP Ms. Kangana Ranaut about the farmers’ movement does not reflect the party’s stance. The BJP disagrees with her comments and has not authorized her to speak on its policy issues,” the party said.
Ranaut, a BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, had likened the farmers’ protests to potential “Bangladesh-like anarchy,” suggesting that external forces were trying to destabilize India under the guise of these protests. Her comments, shared widely on social media, have faced significant backlash.
The BJP has directed Ranaut to avoid such statements in the future and reaffirmed its dedication to its principles of inclusive growth, trust, and social harmony. The party emphasized its commitment to addressing farmers’ concerns through constructive dialogue and policy action, distancing itself from Ranaut’s controversial views.
